Returned to Jaguar TCS Racing to own the architecture and delivery of a new statistical analysis platform. Worked directly with engineers and domain specialists to turn complex, sometimes loosely defined requirements into dependable software for race, test and factory workflows.

Responsibilities and impact

  • Took responsibility for the platform’s architecture and delivery, from data ingestion and processing through to analysis and visualisation.
  • Worked closely with engineers and domain specialists to understand problems, challenge requirements and agree workable solutions.
  • Made technical decisions across application architecture, inter-process communication, performance and third-party isolation.
  • Led the introduction of Rx.NET as an alternative to polling-based monitoring, defining a gradual adoption plan and delegating initial implementations to build capability within the team.
  • Advised colleagues on software architecture and performance outside my immediate project.
  • Prototyped a new data file format for multi-frequency data that decreased file sizes by up to 55% compared to the previous format.
  • Helped shape the architecture of the team’s primary event system of record.
  • Brought the software and sponsorships team together to align on goals and deliverables when it comes to software activations.

Software Engineer - Aero Performance

Developed analysis software for aerodynamic performance engineering, supporting workflows spanning trackside operations, the wind tunnel, CFD and simulation.

Responsibilities and impact

  • Worked directly with aerodynamicists and performance engineers to understand specialist analytical requirements and translate them into maintainable software.
  • Migrated legacy MATLAB file-processing workflows into .NET components before the start of seasonal engineering operations.
  • Investigated expression-processing limitations, identified the underlying parsing problem and worked with upstream maintainers to enable a fix.
  • Helped inform the subsequent migration away from the existing expression library, improving evaluation performance by three to four times.
  • Supported operational applications throughout demanding development and analysis workflows, balancing immediate engineering needs with longer-term maintainability.

Joined Jaguar to improve the software, infrastructure and engineering practices supporting vehicle development and race-event operations across its Formula E works and customer programmes.

Responsibilities and impact

  • Designed and introduced the team’s end-to-end software engineering interview framework, covering take-home assessments, technical and systems interviews, and final candidate evaluation.
  • Identified the need for additional software capacity, made the case for the team’s first software secondment, then delegated work and supported delivery through regular technical review.
  • Built workflow orchestration supporting manual, scripted and automated processing of event data across Jaguar-powered cars.
  • Worked with Vehicle Performance, Controls and R&D engineers to improve ECU development, testing and release workflows.
  • Roadmapped engineering tooling used to interact with vehicles across HiL, DiL, test-rig and on-track environments while retaining compatibility with previous car generations.
  • Defined development standards across multiple languages and designed a structured software-engineering interview process from initial screening through to final assessment.
  • Consolidated 150 repositories from six source-control locations, making projects easier to find, share and onboard engineers onto.
  • Re-architected trackside API infrastructure across Linux hosts, separating workloads and introducing health checks and monitoring.
  • Introduced MSIX packaging to strengthen deployment trust and protect application authenticity.
  • Supported race-critical software at vehicle tests, working directly with engineers and resolving operational issues during live running.

Built applications used by systems engineers and trackside personnel during Formula 1 operations, covering real-time garage systems, vehicle programming and shared engineering platforms.

Responsibilities and impact

  • Developed real-time garage-signalling software that consumed telemetry and controlled physical displays used by trackside personnel.
  • Rebuilt vehicle-programming tooling using WinUI and MVVM, supporting systems engineers during active race operations.
  • Architected a Blazor micro-frontend platform that allowed individual modules to be deployed without coupling every change to a shared release.
  • Introduced code-quality and testing practices across microservice applications to improve release confidence.
  • Mentored junior engineers through onboarding and delivery, including guidance on services used to store and zero on-car sensor calibrations.
  • Evaluated high-performance charting frameworks for large telemetry datasets, helping inform future analysis and visualisation work.

Started my professional software career at 17, progressing from application development into architecture, platform modernisation, security and technical decision-making across enterprise systems.

Responsibilities and impact

  • Designed an enterprise case-management platform using Blazor Server, Microsoft Entra authentication and secure integration with internal APIs.
  • Pioneered the adoption of .NET Core by presenting the technical and financial case for changing the organisation’s application and deployment technology.
  • Contributed to an invoicing platform capable of generating up to thousands of PDF documents each month.
  • Evaluated application-security and code-quality tooling, leading to the introduction of SAST visibility for management and auditors.
  • Conducted feasibility studies that identified capability gaps, delivery risks and hidden complexity before projects were approved.
  • Made evidence-based recommendations against projects where the likely cost and resource requirements did not justify proceeding.
